— a reference guide to current apps
Click any app to visit its website or Google Play listing for current details
Android offers a growing range of genealogy apps. Web-based platforms work well in any browser and are often the most capable option on Android.  ·  The GCG does not endorse or recommend any particular program.
Note for Android users: Android genealogy apps are generally less feature-rich than their desktop or iOS counterparts. The best experience on Android is usually through the web browser versions of FamilySearch, Ancestry, and MyHeritage, or by using Heredis if you already use it on your desktop. Dedicated Android apps are mostly companion or viewer tools rather than full-featured programs.

Tip — GEDCOM on Android: All dedicated apps listed support GEDCOM, so your data is never locked in. You can export from your desktop program and import into any Android app, or vice versa.  ·  For the best Android genealogy experience, consider pairing a desktop program (RootsMagic or Heredis) with its companion Android app for seamless sync.  ·  If you have more recent information please contact the webmanager.
